By 1926 Tina Modotti became the preferred photographer of the Mexican mural movement documenting the murals of Jose Clemente Orozco and Diego Rivera. Between 1926 and 1927 Rivera painted Modotti five times in his mural entitled, “Song to the Earth and to those who Work Her and Free Her” at the Escuela Nacional de Agricultura in Chapingo while at the same time she documented sections of the murals on film.
